It's been quite the start to Old Firm week from a Rangers point of view and we're barely halfway through.

If it wasn't Borna Barisic getting involved in a minor scuffle with a supporter outside Ibrox, Rangers star Jack Butland was clipped criticising a fan who complained about the goalkeeper failing to stop for an autograph.

The entire thing has brought into sharp the focus the entitled behaviour of some supporters as Philippe Clement's eagerness to promote 'synergy' goes to the heads of some.

Let's be clear here; these Rangers players are going above and beyond to engage with fans and anyone who is set on abusing them needs a good shake.

Those involved in these incidents should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and if any one of them are reading this, let's just say we're embarrassed for them.

But it's not just fan scuffles which have drawn social media reaction in the build up to what is quite simply the biggest game of the Scottish Premiership season.

Leading Rangers fan media Four Lads Had a Dream have been forced to take to social media platform X to shoot down some rather toxic rumours surrounding Alex Rae and Fabio Silva.

Rae and Silva bust-up claims 'utter fantasy'

Responding to a now deleted Tweet about Alex Rae apparently having a bust-up with Fabio Silva, Rangers insiders Four Lads have been clear that the rumours are 'utter fantasy'.

Four Lads have been eager to point out that there are no issues with squad harmony, suggesting that everyone is focused on Saturday's Old Firm.

Indulging in this nonsense also only benefits one side of Glasgow.

"Just to be clear, the stuff about Rae is complete fantasy, absolute nonsense," Four Lads said on X.

"Jack Butland had his family to get home then to the PFA awards, on instruction to go straight, he always stops every time.

"As for Barisic, responding to personal abuse which is on the fan not him.

"There is zero dressing room issues."

The leading Rangers media account also lambasted entitled supporters and suggested changes are in the offing for how players interact with supporters.

In a major blow to fans who have behaved sensibly in this regard, it appears the behaviour of some is to forever alter how the players engage with the support.

"Clement wants the players to engage with supporters and be as 'one'," Four Lads said on X.

"The players embrace that which is why it happens, same with end of game stuff.

"What is going to happen now is more security for the players & they won't stop for as long so folk will miss out."

Rangers fans sent warning on player interactions

There you have it folks.

Four Lads Had a Dream are known to have close links to inside Rangers and it is a positive thing to see the outlet speak with such authority on this issue.

Rangers clearly need to change how fans are approaching the players and the clips of the last few days have been genuinely entitled and depressing.

As for the rumours, when there's a stink around Rangers it's not hard to guess from where it originates.

The Rangers squad need to focus on potentially the biggest Old Firm derby of their careers and all this chatter is an unwelcome distraction which we're sure will have an impact in the build-up.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement will be asked about it heading into the game and let this be a warning to supporters.
