This is what Darwin Nunez was spotted doing at full-time in the Liverpool vs Tottenham game.

Sunday afternoon may have been a brief appearance for Darwin Nunez in a Liverpool shirt, but it was still enough to evoke frustration both from the fans and himself.

Nunez scuffed another chance and continued his barren run in front of goal. Despite his chant ringing around Anfield, there are some serious doubts about his quality as a striker.

There is no question, Nunez is a brilliant footballer. He can be elusive on the ball, and at full flow he’s a frightening prospect to face for defenders.

But he is still too erratic when it comes to making an impact in and around the box.

What Darwin Nunez did at full-time against Tottenham

That erratic nature of his play is something only he can work on. It’s not impossible that as he matures as a forward, he will be able to regain his composure in front of goal.

Nunez was capable of finding his feet at Benfica and became a formidable striker in Portugal. There is no reason as to why he cannot do the same at Anfield.

But in the game against Tottenham on Sunday night, Nunez only faced more frustration. His erratic nature shone through, with the Uruguayan being lively in the final third, but ultimately being wasteful when it mattered.

His game was pretty much summed up by what he did at the full-time whistle. According to The Athletic, Nunez went straight down the tunnel and into the dressing room after the game had finished.

The Darwin Nunez mystery

After the game, Nunez also appeared to delete all his Liverpool related posts on Instagram.

What his reasoning behind that is moot at this point. He has come under a lot of fire recently by a section of the club’s supporters on social media. So, it might have been a way to protect himself from negative and abusive comments.

But we cannot be sure for certain. It could also be a sign of frustration.
