Portsmouth are admirers of Brest winger Karamoko Dembele after his loan spell at Blackpool, as per The News.

Portsmouth could see the attacker as someone to bolster their ranks as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Dembele, 21, scored nine goals for the Seasiders this season and has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Here is a look at three alternatives Pompey should consider if they can’t land the ex-Celtic man…

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

He has had his injury problems this term and could do with another loan exit away from Crystal Palace to build his confidence back up. The 21-year-old, who is an England youth international, had an impressive 2022/23 campaign at Charlton Athletic and caught the eye at The Valley.

He chipped in with 15 goals in all competitions for the Addicks and has since played eight matches for the Eagles since returning to Selhurst Park last year. Portsmouth should try and lure him to Fratton Park to help boost his development.

Who is this?

Liam Millar

The Canada international is due to return to FC Basel following his temporary spell at Preston. He has done well at Deepdale and has scored seven goals and picked up six assists for the Lilywhites as he prepares for his final game with Ryan Lowe’s side away at West Brom this weekend.

Millar, who is 24-years-old, is facing an uncertain future heading into the next transfer window. The ex-Liverpool man would be an eye-catching addition for Pompey if they were able to lure him down to Hampshire and it would show the rest of the league that they mean business.

Matt Ritchie

He rose up through the academy ranks at Portsmouth and went on to play 10 times for their first-team as a youngster. The versatile 34-year-old went on to play for Swindon Town, AFC Bournemouth and now Newcastle United.

However, his contract at St James’ Park expires at the end of next month. Portsmouth should try and snap him up on a free transfer to add more experience into their ranks.
