Charlton Athletic are going to be in the market for at least one goalkeeper this summer, according to reporter Richard Cawley.

Charlton Athletic look poised to reshuffle their goalkeeper ranks somewhat this summer.

Lewis Ward hasn’t featured since signing in January and looks poised for an exit. Both Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Harry Isted are under contract beyond the end of the season, but with neither particularly starring, the door could be open for a new no.1 to come in.

As such, reporter Richard Cawley has said at least one goalkeeper will be targeted by the Addicks.

With that said, here are three goalkeepers Charlton Athletic should keep in mind as possible transfer targets for the upcoming summer transfer window…

Christian Walton – Ipswich Town

Walton starred for Ipswich Town in League One but while out injured, he lost his starting spot to Vaclav Hladky earlier this season. As a result, it seems likely that he moves on when his contract expires this summer.

While the past season or so has seen Walton’s action limited, he’s been a fantastic goalkeeper in both League One and the Championship before.

If available, the former Brighton & Hove Albion man will be a ‘keeper eyed by plenty of EFL clubs this summer.

Cameron Dawson – Sheffield Wednesday

Dawson is another ‘keeper who has starred in League One now serving as a backup in the Championship. He’s proven to be a great shot-stopper before but at 28, he deserves to be playing on a weekly basis.

As another out of contract option, expect Dawson to have plenty of suitors this summer.

A return to starting football at Hillsborough seems unlikely but with Charlton Athletic, he could become a long-term starter for a club capable of pushing for promotion in the future.

Who is this?

Corey Addai – Crawley Town

Last but not least is the lesser-known Corey Addai, although his performances in League Two this season should have put him on the radars of many.

The former Arsenal and Coventry City prospect returned to the EFL with Crawley Town in 2022 after a stint in Denmark and he’s been a revelation in the fourth-tier. Having only penned a two-year deal though, the door could open for him to move on.

At 26, he’s someone who could hold down a starting spot for years and keep progressing for Charlton Athletic.
