Bolton fans run on the pitch after Trotters see off Barnsley comeback to book place in League One play-off final

Bolton Wanderers fans stormed the pitch with blue and white flares as they celebrated reaching the League One play-off final.

The Trotters saw off a late, late comeback from Barnsley who brought the tie back to 5-4 on aggregate to seal a spot at Wembley as they look to return to the Championship for the first time since 2019.

Ian Evatt’s side had a 3-1 lead going into the second leg at home, and the 3-2 loss on Tuesday night was enough to see them through.

Bolton will face either Oxford United or Peterborough in the final, with the U’s currently holding a 1-0 advantage going into the second leg on Wednesday.
