Two months ago, Diario de Sevilla suggested Aston Villa had made an offer for UD Las Palmas goalkeeper Álvaro Valles.

On April 22nd, Grada 3 reported the Villans are following the 26-year-old. His current deal lasts until 2025 and his agent has already turned down the renewal offer made by the La Liga side. Therefore, an exit would be on the cards in the summer window.

Diario de Almería brings Aston Villa back into the fold, when discussing Almería stopper Luis Maximiano.

The 25-year-old Portuguese is on loan from Lazio, and Almería have a obligation to make his stay permanent if certain set conditions are met.

His form this season has caught the attention of other clubs and the La Liga side can raise funds, if they were to sell him in the next window.

Diario de Almería are of the belief Maximiano has a similar valuation to that of Valles. When discussing the latter's suitors, they explain that Aston Villa are one of the ‘main interested parties’.

The Premier League side have also contacted Las Palmas for the Spaniard.

Emiliano Martínez is the first-choice goalkeeper at Villa Park, with Robin Olsen as his backup. If Aston Villa were to sign Valles, he's likely to replace the Swede and become the second-choice stopper.

Olsen, 34, has made nine appearances this season and Aston Villa suffered defeats in four of them. It would make sense for Unai Emery's side to find a replacement in the summer, and Valles can be an option.
