Arsenal's interest in 22-year-old player drops after learning he's priced at £70m – journalist

Arsenal will be in the market for a new midfielder this summer.
As Thomas Partey and Jorginho continue to age and slow down, the Gunners need some fresh blood in the middle of the park.
The north London club have been linked with so many midfield options as of late, including Everton's Amadou Onana.
However, according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Arsenal aren't that keen to sign Onana for £70m, claiming that Arsenal don't actually rate him that highly.

Jones shared what he knows about Arsenal and Onana.
"Other options, Douglas Luiz is going to stay at Aston Villa. Amadou Onana, I don't think Arsenal have the same level of interest as they once have. He's at £70m and I don't think they will pay that for him. I don't think anyone does. Apart from Everton I don't think anyone thinks he's worth that money. Nobody rates him highly enough," Jones said.

Amadou Onana being valued at £70m is a real headscratcher.
The Belgian has been steady if unspectacular for Everton this season.
You'd be hard-pressed to even say that he's been Everton's best midfielder this term as the likes of Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure have consistently outperformed him.
Onana does have a lot of solid raw attributes, he's big, he's strong and he's fast, but this is a player who is far from the finished product.
If Arsenal were to sign Onana, they'd be paying for a lot of potential that is yet to be fulfilled, and there's no guarantee that the Everton ace would even be able to hit the heights expected of him.
Arsenal are wise to give this one a bit of a wide berth as Onana isn't quite at that top level just yet.
