Tony Cascarino watched Nottingham Forest in action yesterday and he was seriously impressed with one of their attacking players.

The Reds have finally regained some daylight on the relegation zone once again.

After a 3-1 win at Sheffield United, Forest now have a three-point advantage over Luton, with Burnley also losing yesterday.

This week Forest should find out if they are going to receive any points back following their appeal over a four-point deduction.

With two games left to play it really is in the hands of Forest and hopefully, the team can get over the line.

After a dominant display against the Blades, Cascarino praised one key player who really caught his eye yesterday.

Tony Cascarino raves about Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi

Well, there really aren’t enough superlatives to keep describing Callum Hudson-Odoi.

His performance yesterday was just unbelievable and both of his goals were scintillating at Bramall Lane.

When the winger cuts inside and lets rip with his right foot there aren’t many goalkeepers in the land who can prevent the inevitable.

Cascarino was certainly impressed yesterday and he’s raved about him for his latest performance.

He said on TalkSPORT: “Callum Hudson-Odoi, £3 million to Forest. Okay, World Cup winner at Under-17 level with England, what a turnaround in his career.

“I remember when he snapped his Achilles tendon. Tough gig. A lot of clubs wanted him at one time. Bayern Munich were one of them.

“He has gone to Forest and you know what? Fair play to him. His performance levels have been really good in recent weeks and it looks like he’s got a big future for me.

“I really look and think there is more to come from him. He is a finisher. He has the ability to come in like he did yesterday on his right foot, bend it in the bottom corner, he is one big asset for them.

“Forest have done a lot of business, he is up there with the very best.”

Forest recruitment team deserves praise for stellar signing

This signing looked risky. As Cascarino points out, the player had a pretty rotten injury and that robbed him of his Chelsea place.

But, fair play to the lad, he’s come to Forest and this season he’s really settled down in the side.

Nuno Espirito Santo has given him the belief that he clearly craved and he’s now bagged seven goals in all competitions this season.

Hudson-Odoi at £3 million is a frankly ridiculous piece of business and the Forest recruitment team have to be praised for that.

The Reds have to bottle this sort of transfer and ensure that they remain just as savvy when it comes to player recruitment this summer.
