Rob Edwards looks physically shaken as Luton blow three-goal lead to lose 4-3 following second half Bournemouth blitz

Luton were guilty of suffering the biggest collapse in the Premier League this season as they lost 4-3 to Bournemouth – despite leading 3-0.

The Hatters went into the break at the Vitality Stadium with a three-goal lead, and had climbed above the relegation zone at Nottingham Forest‘s expense.

Luton boss Edwards watched on in horror as his side were torn apart in the second half

Goals from Tahith Chong, Chiedozie Ogbene and Ross Barkley had Luton well on their way to claiming their first win since January 30.

But they inexplicably crumbled in the second half, with Andoni Iraola’s half-time team talk clearly working wonders.

Striker Dominic Solanke pulled a goal back in the 50th minute, before Illia Zabarnyi and Antoine Semenyo scored within two minutes of each other to get the hosts back on level terms.

And after equalising just after the hour-mark, it was one-way traffic from then on, with the south coast side completing the dramatic turnaround in the 83rd minute.

It was Semenyo who dealt the devastating blow for Luton, as he tucked home his second of the night in expert fashion.

Played in on goal by Enes Unal, the forward drove into the box before firing into the top left corner to spark jubilant scenes.

The camera then immediately panned to Luton boss Rob Edwards, who looked physically shaken by his side’s second half horror show.

And despite nine minutes added on, the visitors failed to threaten, with the defeat leaving them in 18th spot.

As for Bournemouth, they remain in 13th spot and are now just five points off the top ten.

Their victory means they have become just the third team in Premier League history to win a match despite trailing by at least three goals at half-time.

Manchester United produced a stunning comeback away at Tottenham in 2001, while Wolves stunned Leicester in 2003.
